7 STEPS TO RESOLUTION

Free Evaluation

Step 1:

The first step is to reach out and have your confidential, no obligation, free evaluation. At this meeting, a qualified tax relief consultant will evaluate your situation and will discuss all available options available to you. This call takes 30 to 45 minutes, however, there are cases when this call is not providing enough info to determine a clear course of action. Therefore, it is advised to have ready all recent notices and correspondence from the IRS available during the free consultation.

If you do not have them, you can hire us to obtain your IRS Transcripts and Record of Account we ’ll have a factual evaluation of your situation.

Retaining Our Firm

Step 2:

At the end of the consultation and if selected as a good fit for our firm you’ll be given the opportunity to retain us as your tax representative. You will be required to sign the engagement letter(s) and to make financial arrangements to pay for our services.

We will file a power of attorney (POA) with the IRS. This will provide you with immediate relief because from this point on, the IRS will be required to contact us instead of you. A separate POA is needed for each State where you have a tax problem.

Beginning the Tax Resolution Process

Step 3:

You will be assigned a case manager who is in charge with your case. Together we will develop a phased strategy for resolving your case and will advise you on what steps to take for the most effective resolution. Your case manager is available to you by phone, email, or in person.

At Tax Relief we employ a team approach to resolving your tax problems. Our case managers are supported by a staff of experienced technical specialists.

IRS Compliance

Step 4:

Generally, before any negotiation/settlement will be accepted the IRS, you must become a compliant taxpayer. Compliance means that all past due income tax returns must be prepared and filed. Compliance also means you must be “current” on your quarterly estimated income tax payments and you must be withholding tax at the correct rate (if a wage earner). Your case manager is experienced in what must be done to achieve compliance and will advise you accordingly.

If you can not furnish the records necessary to prepare your taxes, Tax Relief has developed methods, in accordance with the IRS regulations, for completing the preparation of tax returns and get them filed right away.

Your (the Client) Responsibilities

Step 5:

Clients who achieve successful resolution of their tax matters have the following traits in common:

  1. They view the relationship with us as a collaborative one;

  2. They view this as a project that requires cooperation;

  3. They follow thru, on a TIMELY basis, with our requests for information and documentation.

Clients who achieve stated resolution goals return our phone calls and emails timely, and stay in contact with us throughout the duration of their case.

Tax Settlement Negotiations

Step 6:

We will propose a plan resolution to the IRS that you can live with and see through to acceptance. We have an outstanding understanding of the IRS workings and regulations and we pride ourself on obtaining the best (lowest) settlement for you under the law.

It is rare, however, that a proposal is accepted right away. Through diligence, persistence and follow up, we will monitor, provide additional information to the IRS (as needed) and negotiate your proposed settlement until a resolution is achieved.

Tax Resolution Is Reached:

Step 7:

We will review the final resolution on your case the by the IRS to make sure it is as agreed upon. If not, we will insist to be changed to reflect what was agreed to. If the IRS is unwilling to do this, we will advise you as to what your options are for the sent step.

Finally, you will be advised on what you must do in order to succeed with your resolution and avoid future tax problems.
